volunteer with Habitat GO
Habitat for Humanity GO needs your support! Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. Without their support, we can’t give families a hand up to break the cycle of poverty.
Our volunteers are the light that makes us shine!
Whether it is working on a committee, building a house, sorting ReStore merchandise, providing a nutritious lunch or selecting a family, there are many avenues through which volunteers can help to make Habitat GO a success!
Volunteering at Habitat GO gives you an opportunity to get involved and share your talents to achieve its very worthy cause – helping local families build strength, stability and self reliance through affordable homeownership.
Current Opportunities with Habitat GO
Volunteering as an individual
Orleans Build: Our build at Jeanne d'Arc/Fortune Blvd. in Orleans is underway. Please fill out our Volunteer Application if you'd like to volunteer on our build site.
Committees: We are also recruiting for several Habitat GO Committees. More information can be found under Volunteer Opportunities
Build Crew: We are looking for skilled construction volunteers who can come out to the build site on a regular basis to help us complete eight homes in Orleans this year. For more details, please contact Jenny at email@example.com
ReStore: New volunteers are needed to help at our new ReStore location in Stittsville, which will open this winter. You can help with everything from accepting donations and helping customers to cleaning and arranging merchandise. Please contact Jenny at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information..
Volunteering as a group
We offer many opportunities for groups to volunteer together with our Build Day program and our Theme Builds. If you are interesting in volunteering as a group please contact Shawna Blanchard at email@example.com or 613-749-9950 ext. 233.
Volunteer safety is a top priority for us, it is for this reason that we have age restrictions for our volunteers. We do not accept volunteers under the age of 16. Volunteers between 16-18 may volunteer on the build site, but they must be accompanied by an adult who is willing to work alongside them.
We are also always in need of food donations to help feed our hard-working build volunteers. Whether you can provide a lunch for 15-20 people or have leads on possible lunch donors, please contact Jenny at firstname.lastname@example.org or 613-749-9950 ext. 229.
