How Can I Raise Funds?
Here are a few ideas to help raise money for Habitat Greater Ottawa:
- Host an event in support of Habitat: A cocktail reception, walk-a-thon, birthday party, community yard sale or lemonade stand. The options are limitless – so is the impact!
- Got enough stuff? In lieu of gifts for special occasions, ask that a donation be made to Habitat Greater Ottawa
- Challenge Yourself: Planning to skydive? Shave your head? Run a marathon? Do it in the name of Habitat and raise donations in honour of your personal accomplishment!
- Create a team campaign: with your office, friends, classmates or family members.

Workplace Giving Event
A workplace giving event not only helps charities and the community, it’s a great and effective way to increase employee retention, boost morale and contribute to your corporate social responsibility goals!
Have Habitat staff present during your next lunch-and-learn day or host a Sign-a-Stud Event, where businesses can sponsor their employees to sign wooden 2×4 “framing studs” and leave heartfelt messages for future Habitat homeowners.
Women Build is back 🎉
Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa’s Women Build days are for women who want to make an impact in their community!
Get a group of 10 women together to raise $6000 or ask your employer to sponsor a group of staff. Then, join us in building strength, stability and self-reliance for local families – and have a great time while doing it!
The best part? Anyone can participate – even if they’ve never picked up a hammer!
