This spring, Habitat Greater Ottawa will welcome eight families to their new homes at Titus Landing at Wateridge Village. Over the past two years of uncertainty, our partner families showed resiliency and dedication in completing their volunteer hours as a part of Habitat’s homeownership program.

We look forward to celebrating these eight families as they officially become Habitat homeowners in just a few short months. For now, we invite you to meet our Titus Landing families:

“Becoming a Habitat Homeowner will allow us to move into a safe home with payments that we can afford. Our children will have their own spaces to go and play. If our kids are happy, we are happy as parents. We hope that our future will be bright - especially for our kids.”

“While volunteering with Habitat, we created bonds with the other families that would be in the same development as us. We are very excited to have a community of supportive people around us; that's all we want. Somewhere we can grow, my son can have a quality education, and we can live a happy, healthy lifestyle.”

“I want to become a Habitat Homeowner because I want to own a home and provide my daughters with a better future. I remember growing up in my family home in Newfoundland. My family were constantly together doing activities in the living room by the wood-burning stove. Whether it was sitting down and talking or playing games, the room was filled with laughter. I want to create the same wonderful memories with my daughters and have them experience a home that they can call their own.”

“I heard about Habitat from a friend, and I was pleasantly surprised such an organization existed. With their help, my family will live in a safe and stable home where we can set roots down and call ours. Also, we’re able to move into an accessible unit. I’ve been managing my life with polio, and this will be such a helpful way to spend my time at home. Somewhere I feel like I can move freely, with no complications. Where I feel safe.”

“We will always be thankful for any blessings that come our way, and this will be no exception. Getting a home where we can really grow – where we can decorate, save money for education, and overall have a happier environment. We’re excited to have great neighbours, too. After all our hard work, we finally will have a house we can turn into a home.”

“This will change my family's life for the better. We can get the chance to finally own a home, a place we can grow and live a safe and stable life. This will also be the first time we’ve lived in an actual house – it's such an amazing thing to look forward to.”

“When we move into our new Habitat home, the overwhelming feeling of freedom and safety is something we can't wait for. Our hopes for the future are to be able to share this experience and let people know how amazing this organization is. We will forever be grateful for this opportunity.”

"It has been an incredible experience partnering with Habitat and having the opportunity to volunteer alongside my future neighbours and hopefully new friends. Kayshawn cannot wait to have game nights in our new home and invite his grandparents over to join us. Becoming a Habitat homeowner will provide my son and I a stable home, with comfort and safety in mind while allowing me the opportunity to own a home as a single income family."
