It’s no secret there is an affordable housing crisis in our city and across the country, and the most effective and long-term solution to ending the crisis is through building more affordable homes. As the only Ottawa charity building and providing affordable homeownership opportunities, you and your employer’s support will have an immediate and generational impact for families and the communities we serve. Choose Habitat Greater Ottawa as your Charity of Choice!
When you’re filling out your workplace campaign form, we would be honoured if you choose to direct your gift to Habitat Greater Ottawa! Whether through the GCWCC, United Way, Benevity or other workplace giving platform, you can indicate your support for Habitat Greater Ottawa.
Please use the Charitable Registration Number: 140290735 RR 0001 to ensure your gifts are directed towards Habitat for Humanity National Capital Region (o/a Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa).
Payroll Deductions
Many employers offer a payroll deduction program benefiting charities – donate as little as a $1 per paycheque! Payroll giving is a simple, tax effective method of donating through your salary. By having your donation automatically come out of your paycheque, it’s a simple and effortless way to give to Habitat Greater Ottawa.
Matching Campaigns
Did you know many employers have Workplace Matching options? This means your employer will donate funds equal to your contribution – doubling (or even tripling) your gift!
Employee Volunteer Incentive
If you’re a Habitat Greater Ottawa Volunteer, or thinking about volunteering with us, your employer may have an incentive program where they will make a donation to any organization you choose to volunteer with.

We’re pleased to engage with your staff and coworkers to discuss the importance of affordable homeownership and building stronger, healthier communities.
ReStore Team Day: Invest in Your People by Investing in Your Community!
Build Teams. Build Homes. Build Communities.
A ReStore Team Day is a one-of-a-kind employee engagement opportunity that offers your employer the chance to invest in your employees while making a tangible difference in the lives of local families. Team members will spend a memorable day at one of our Habitat Greater Ottawa ReStore locations. As a local social enterprise retailer, all profits from our operations fund Habitat Greater Ottawa in helping more families access safe and decent housing.
Our ReStore Team Day is ideal for corporate teams of 5-10 who are looking to support their community in a meaningful way, while learning new skills. We take care of your ReStore day from registration to training to safety equipment to lunch.
What’s more? Your employer will receive a number of recognition benefits for your day including photo opportunities, social media content as well as name and sponsorship recognition. Host a Workplace Fundraiser
Looking to engage your employees and colleagues in a fun and meaningful way at the office? Hold a Workplace Fundraising Event during your office lunch time or throughout the day. Fun and easy workplace fundraising ideas include potlucks, bake sales, casual Fridays, raffles, silent auctions, game nights and more.
At Habitat Greater Ottawa we can host your office’s Sign-a-Stud event where businesses can sponsor their employees to sign wooden 2×4 “framing studs” and leave heartfelt messages for the Habitat families. These decorated framing studs will be installed in Habitat Greater Ottawa’s next development including pictures and social media acknowledgement.
