Are you tired of spending hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars on furniture from big box stores? Do you have a passion for taking something old and making it appear new again? If you answered ‘yes’ to either of these questions, then our ReStore Restyled Upcycle Challenge event is one you won’t want to miss! On April 11th, we’ll be launching an exciting new contest to show you how to get gorgeous furniture at a fraction of retail cost!
Our ReStores provide volunteer opportunities for families who are working towards owning their own home. Thanks to those who have donated to our ReStores, we are able to sell furniture and houseware products such as cabinets, sofas and floor tiles to the community. All the proceeds benefit Habitat Greater Ottawa projects. It’s a wonderful opportunity for people to recycle for a good cause.
For the upcoming ReStore ReStyled Upcycle Challenge, we’re asking Ottawa DIYers to refurnish and repurpose old furniture items from our ReStores. The finished pieces will be featured online and one of our lucky fans will get to take one of the pieces home! You’ll also have your chance to bid on our other items at your local ReStore.
Here’s a sneak peek of one of the pieces!
We have several talented contestants who are donating their time and hard work to recreated fine furniture for the event. The Designers are as follows:
- Lisa Silfwerbrand of Recreated Designs
- Joan Marrin of Joan’s Painting
- Katrina Barclay of Malenka Originals
- Heather of Re4M
- Jessica McAulay of Blue Peaches Furniture
Make sure you follow us on Instagram and like our Facebook page so you don’t miss any of the contest details! We’ll also be featuring the items across our three ReStores so be sure to pop by to check it out…(psst. there may be an awesome find just waiting for you!)
