Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa’s Women Build days are for women who want to make an impact in their community! Get a group of 10 women together to raise $6000 or ask your employer to sponsor a group of staff. Then, join us in building strength, stability and self-reliance for local families – and have a great time while doing it!
The best part? Anyone can participate – even if they’ve never picked up a hammer!

Women Build promotes empowerment, solidarity, learning and pride in our city.
The need for more affordable housing is critical in Ottawa, and thanks to dedicated teams we are able to help by building decent, affordable housing for families in our community.
Our Goal
To raise $200, 000 through fundraising and sponsorship opportunities.
100% of the funds raised will go towards building homes in Greater Ottawa including our current Nantes Development in Orléans.
The Build Site
Habitat Greater Ottawa broke ground on our Nantes build in Orléans in November 2025. This 2-unit development is a continuation of our 7-unit development completed in 2016. The location is close to schools and public transit and each unit will have a single vehicle garage and a small backyard.
How to Participate
Your Women Build Team Leader will register your group of up to 10 members. We’ll help you book your build date and provide you with the platform & support to help your team successfully reach your $6000 fundraising goal ($600 per person for a team of 10)! You’ll then spend a memorable day on a Habitat for Humanity build site, helping local families build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
Our construction site is welcoming to all skill levels – no experience required!
In addition to your Build Day, your Women Build team receives:
- Full Day on a Habitat construction site
- Orientation, Safety training, and on-site supervision
- All tools, equipment, and safety gear provided
- Catered lunch, coffee, and snacks
- Photo & Video opportunities on site, team photo & Habitat t-shirt
- Recognition on Habitat Greater Ottawa’s website, social media, & annual report
At the end of the day, your women build team will have accomplished something meaningful for your community.

Military Build
Habitat Greater Ottawa’s Military Build program encourages Canadian veterans, active duty military members and reserve members volunteer and share in a unique experience while helping local families access strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable home ownership.
The Habitat Greater Ottawa Military Build Program encourages veterans and other military members to volunteer and assist those building their next home through Habitat Greater Ottawa is an opportunity to share a special experience and help a local families in the community.
Law Build
Law Build is a chance for lawyers, paralegals and legal staff across the Greater Ottawa Area to come together for a unique team building experience!
Through Habitat Greater Ottawa’s Law Build Program, teams of 10 can raise funds in their community. Law firms can also sponsor their team to come out for a day on the Habitat Build Site. Your support will help local families access safe and affordable housing through Habitat.
Tech Build
Take a break from building networks to build homes! Tech Build is an opportunity for your team to get out of the office and get your hands dirty building safe and affordable homes for local families. Tech companies can sponsor teams of 10 staff for a Habitat Build Day or teams can raise funds in their community.
It’s the perfect opportunity to step away from the corporate world and focus on teambuilding while making a meaningful difference for local families!
