2017 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project - Canada 150

Our affiliate was excited to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary by joining a Canada-wide Habitat for Humanity movement from July 9-14, 2017. Along with nearly 50 other affiliates across the country, we embarked on the largest and most ambitious initiative in Habitat for Humanity’s history in Canada. Together, we built 150 homes, alongside 150 Habitat families to provide affordable homeownership opportunities across Canada.

Thousands of volunteers, sponsors and community partners helped make this possible. As part of this celebration, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter joined us here in Canada for the 34th Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project.

President Carter and Mrs. Carter focused their efforts in Edmonton, Alberta and Winnipeg, Manitoba, but the Carter Work Project was a country-wide effort, with almost 50 communities in every province and territory in Canada, including Habitat GO's four builds in Ottawa this year, helping reach the goal of building 150+ homes.
